 Ron McPheters - President

I first came to Alaska in 1972 when my dad, Bill, came looking for work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. He would stay, and each fall I would to return home for school. In 1982, I finally stayed for good.
I started my career working for Anchorage Sand & Gravel, which progressed into performing building work around town. I did that for the next 19 years working in many different capacities from General Laborer to Labor Foreman. The thing I miss the most is the concrete pours, there’s something about “mud” that gets in your blood.

In July of 2001, I came to work for the Local. I wanted to make a difference and was also excited for having the opportunity to work with people like Mano, Mike & Blake. I was humbled to follow in their footsteps when I became President of Local 341. I am very thankful to the membership for having the confidence to elect me.

I am married to my wife Julie and have 4 great kids, Josh 18, Katie 15, Allie 10, and Danny 6. We recently moved to the Valley and now live in Palmer.
