• North Slope Training (NSTC) is offered monthly in Anchorage & Fairbanks. Sign up at local unions for classes. This training is required for pipeline work. Initial 8 hours plus yearly renewals.
• Flagging certificates need to be renewed every four years. (Also worksite traffic supervisors).
• Mining Safety & Health (MSHA) classes are required for people working at gravel pits. Two days initial training plus yearly renewals.
• Plumber Utility certificate—Pipe layers with at least 1000 hours installing water, sewer, or storm lines can verify and apply to take a test with IDOL to gain a plumber utility certificate. It’s good for 2 years and is required for work on private property. Call us to get more information about this certificate and what to study.
• Drilling Training may be available at different times this training season. Please indicate, to an agent, if you are interested or need it for work.
• Training programs not listed on this schedule and that members need for work, must be pre-approved prior to training for reimbursement.
• PLEASE contact your local union regarding First Aid classes and additional classes offered on an as needed basis throughout the year.
• Unless otherwise noted all classes start at 8:00 A.M. and will end at 5:00 P.M.
